I have a 1997 Ski Doo MXZ 440 liquid cooled and gas is getting in the oil tank. How and why?

Q: I have a 1997 Ski-Doo MXZ 440 liquid cooled and gas collects on the oil tank. I put about 1500-2000 miles on the sled and have not had to add oil to it (tank is always full). The oil is light blue-green. My brother figured gas collects on the oil tank because of the smell of oil. What could be causing this problem?
Sled is hard starting. This part of the oil or gas problem?

Q: We had a friend who gave us a l977 Ski-Doo, and my husband was able to make it work, but he needs to get the seat off. Does anyone know how, or can you direct us to a site that can tell us or explain?

A: There are 2 bolts inside the tunnel just before the sno-flap, lift the seat back and slide back.

Jury acquits driver on appeal in snowmachine traffic death
The jury overturned a 2006 verdict that O'Brien was responsible for 2003 accident that killed 30-year-old Calvin Toal of Wasilla.
According to Alaska State Troopers the accident happened just before 6 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2003. Toal was riding his yellow 1996 Ski-Doo southbound next to the northbound lane of the Parks Highway near Big Lake Road.
O'Brien, then 34, was northbound in a 1987 Mitsubishi pickup when he swerved and hit Toal's snowmachine head-on. Toal was later pronounced dead at Valley Hospital.

Both are very good sleds. I own both and love them. I have a 98 polaris 440 with just over 5K on it and it still starts on the first or second pull. Personally i think the ski-doo is a better ride on the trail, but the polaris may have a little better topend, but not much. I would say go with the ski-doo. But both make a good and strong motor. Plus the ski-doo has reverse. Once I got that on a sled I dont want one without. So that is also a major plus. Good luck and let us know what you decided on....
